Before proceeding further, however, it would be wise to focus on a few key points that cannot be overlooked if the desired results are to be achieved.

Before starting any job, carefully assess the substrate, remembering that different types of substrates (plaster, marble, steel, wood or other) may require different types of preparation.

The substrate must present a perfectly smooth, even surface, and a mature, sound and stable structure.

To ensure best results, use only products technically and chemically suited to the type of substrate being tiled.

Be sure that the instructions on Bisazza's packaging and technical data sheets are followed to the letter, and apply this general rule for any products used; be especially careful to abide by safety directions.

Boxes of Bisazza mosaic should be transported, carrying and handled in a horizontal position and stored in a dry place, away from water and moisture.

Before applying shading blends or modular decorations, take time to consult Bisazza's layout diagram supplied in each box.

Before mosaic flooring or cladding is adopted for areas permanently in contact with water, it will be advisable to apply a suitable waterproofing treatment to the substrate surfaces (consult setting material's manufacturers).

Mosaic tiling operations should be carried out in ambient temperatures of between 41°F minimum and 86°F maximum.

Remember that a good tile Installer will always install mosaic in such a way that the tesserae are uniformly spaced one from the next, creating an overall appearance of complete harmony.
